We started Yakoa because the rules for protecting creative work stopped
making sense.
As generative AI and remix culture exploded, it became harder to tell what
was original, who made it, or what could be trusted. Copyright law wasn't
built for this, and the systems meant to enforce it had no real context.
We knew there had to be a better way. So we built technology that actually
understands how creative work evolves: who influenced what, where ideas came
from, and when they crossed the line.
Today, Yakoa helps brands, platforms, and creators make informed decisions
about rights and attribution at the scale the internet demands.

We are based in San Jose, California, with a remote-hybrid team distributed across the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe.
